Charles Bronson is probably the best known long term prisoner in the UK having spent decades behind bars.
Fighting against the prison system - his life has consisted of high security category A prisons and psychiatric units. A considerable amount of that time in solidarity confinement. Of his many violent actions he says “I’m a nice guy, but sometimes I lose all my senses and become nasty. That doesn't make me evil, just confused.”
It’s almost impossible to understand what this man has been through. Throughout these difficult years he has found some solace and a means to express himself through his passion for art. His love for surrealism runs so deep within him he has recently changed his name to Charles Salvador Bronson as a dedication to his most influential and favourite artist Salvador Dali.
